To celebrate the beginning of the Fall 2014 semester, the Fashion Business Association has conducted its first meeting of the academic year. The meeting took place on September 1st in the Mountainlair on West Virginia University’s downtown campus. The meeting’s agenda included officer and member introductions, creative icebreakers, and group discussions regarding upcoming club matters.

For every first meeting of the academic year, FBA holds a Newspaper Dress Design Challenge for those in attendance. Not only is the event fun and fashionable, but it also serves as an interactive icebreaker between members. Teams are instructed to use newspapers and duct tape to design a “gown” or other garment(s). The results are pictured here.

FBA also discussed Pittsburgh Fashion Week, which we will be attending on Friday, September 26, 2014 to see one of the designer showcases at Highmark Stadium. This will be an exciting event for the club to attend for the very first time. Our club members are most certainly looking forward to a night full of local fashion and networking.

If you’re interested in attending a meeting or becoming part of the Fashion Business Association, please contact us at wvu.fba@gmail.com. Our meetings will be held every other Monday at 7pm for the rest of the fall semester.

Stay fashionable!
